Our Story

Our Story

01

I know what it feels like to be far from home.

I once lived in the United States as a foreigner.

Living in another country was exciting, but it could also be lonely and overwhelming. Even small everyday problems sometimes felt difficult when I did not know who to ask or where to find reliable information.

At the time, I thought those feelings were simply part of my own experience.

02

Years later, I heard the same story in Korea.

After returning to Korea, I worked as an English teacher. Today, I run an academy and work closely with foreign teachers from around the world.

Over time, many of the teachers I worked with became more than colleagues. They became my friends.

As we grew closer, I began hearing the same concerns again and again.

They enjoyed living in Korea, but they sometimes felt deeply alone. They did not always know who to ask for help. There were moments when they were reminded that they were outsiders in a country far from home.

The loneliness they described was the same loneliness I had felt while living abroad in the United States.

That was when I realized this was not just my experience or theirs.

It is something many people experience when they begin a life in a new country.

03

A job is only the beginning.

For many people, finding work is the first and most urgent step toward moving to Korea.

Recruiting was also the field I understood best. I had experienced teaching myself, and I now understood hiring and academy management from the employer’s side.

That is why StayWorks began with recruiting.

But finding a job is not the same as building a life.

A life also needs a safe place to live, reliable information, people to share a meal with, and a community where you feel that you belong.

04

Why StayWorks exists

As someone who knows Korea well, I wanted to make life here a little easier and warmer for the people who chose Korea.

StayWorks is being built to connect work, housing, useful information, community, meetups, and everyday life in one place.

Our goal is not simply to help people come to Korea.

It is to help them find their place here.
